ANNOUCEMENT: Battistoni Beach and picnic areas are now a “smoke free” zone

August 8th, 2010

There is good news for all the parents who have been concerned about the number of people smoking on Battistoni Beach.  In response to resident’s requests and for the health and safety of the children the LGIA Officers and Directors have voted to make the Battistoni Beach and adjacent picnic areas a “smoke free” zone.  Signs have been posted and “butt buckets” will be placed in the parking area.

Photo buffs: Submit your Lake Garda photos for our home page!

November 11th, 2007

We’d like to offer everyone the opportunity to submit their photos for the home page of our Web site. Let’s reflect the seasonal changes with fresh images from our association members. Maybe kids building a snowman. Or a scenic, snowy neighborhood. During the warmer months, boats and canoes on the water. Families on the beach. Fishing. Picnics. You snap it…we’ll post it. Let your creativity soar!

Digital images need to be JPEGs that are precisely 755 pixels wide by 265 pixels tall. For those of you with Photoshop, here’s an easy way to crop the images to an exact size:

1) Choose the rectangular marquee tool. In the toolbar, choose “Fixed Size” and enter 755 px and 265 px.

2) Click once in the image to place it. Drag around the marquee square to move it where you like.

3) Choose Image –> Crop from the main menus. Then name and save your new image.

E-mail your images to: lakegardaphotos@lakegardanews.com We’ll let you know when your image will be posted — and give you photo credit here on our Web site.

Happy photography!

(1) A link to our Charter and By-Laws

(2) A link to a short article entitled “History of Lake Garda

As a shortcut, you can also get to those sections by clicking on the above hyperlinked titles.

We hope you find these materials useful and interesting.

Wildlife

November 10th, 2007

Lake Garda is home to a rich variety of animals and birds. We encourage everyone to get out as often as possible to watch and look for them — it’s a great family activity.  Please remember that it’s best for both humans and wild animals if we do not try to feed them.  This is especially important with the ducks and geese, as they can become aggressive over time.  Also, bread and bits of “people food” are not healthy fare for our feathered friends.

Common areas

November 10th, 2007

Please remember that the LGIA Common Areas are parcels of land set aside for everyone in the association to enjoy. Do not park vehicles, dump trash or yard debris, store anything, or build anything on this property. Help keep our neighborhood clean, safe, and pleasing for all!

Google search feature now added to our Web site

November 8th, 2007

Now you can perform Google searches right from our Web site!  In the right-hand column, immediately following the local weather, you’ll see a Google search box.  Just type in whatever you’re looking for, press search, and you’ll immediately get your search results — just like you were at Google’s main Web page!

More features to come.  Keep an eye on our Web site for even more enhancements!

Live news feeds now added to our Web site

November 7th, 2007

In addition to the local weather and Google search, you can now see the latest world news headlines right on our Web site. Check out the bottom portion of the right-hand column of our site for the live news feed.
Note that you can customize the category of news you’d like to see by clicking on the news topics at the top of the news listing. Select from General News, Business, Football, Basketball, Baseball, and Hockey.

Make our Web site your primary home page — and have weather, news, and Google always at your fingertips! You can do that in most Web browsers (Internet Explorer, Netscape, Firefox) by going under the Tools menu at the top of your screen and then selecting the Options menu. Then type in http://lakegardanews.com in the Home Page field.

Enjoy!
